Founded in 1775 in the town of Pénjamo, Hacienda Corralejo is the country’s oldest tequila distillery. It produces tequila using only traditional production techniques. The 100% blue agaves are harvested and brought to the distillery, where they are cooked in stone ovens. They are then crushed to extract their juice and slowly fermented for several days. Corralejo Anejo Tequila matures in Limousin oak barrels for 12 months, giving the tequila its distinctive notes. Aromas of oak, vanilla and pepper are combined with hints of cocoa. The palate is sweet and balanced, with a touch of spice.
